Furuodden Sauna is a wood-fired sauna right at the water’s edge on Furuodden Camping in Biristrand, by Lake Mjøsa, 15 minutes south of Lillehammer. We light the stove well before you arrive, so the sauna is hot and ready when you get there.
There is room for eight inside, and the window at the end looks straight out over Mjøsa. The Harvia wood stove can heat the sauna to 125 °C. Between rounds, walk down the steps and cool off in the lake, in winter too.
Book a seat in the shared sauna on Thursdays at 19:00 and Sundays at 16:00, or rent the whole sauna privately for up to eight people. A session lasts 1 hour 45 minutes. You book and pay online with Vipps or card.
The sauna is open to everyone all year round, and you don’t need to stay at the campsite. There is no changing room or shower, so bring a towel and swimwear. The firewood comes from Biristrand Vedproduksjon, which we also run.
