New sauna business in Birkenes: Badstue & Bondeliv På Aanesland Gård
New association registered in Birkenes
The association Badstue & Bondeliv På Aanesland Gård was registered in the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises on 11 November 2025, with a founding date of 6 November the same year. The association is based at Lundeveien 225 in Birkeland, Birkenes municipality. According to the register, its purpose is what it describes as “community in the sauna, shared meals, and care and feeding of animals in the barn”.
What the register says
The organisation is registered as an association/club/body. This means it is organised as a member-based association, typically run on a voluntary basis with a board, rather than as a limited company with a commercial purpose. It is also registered in the Norwegian Register of Voluntary Organisations, which is common for non-profit organisations and can provide access to public funding schemes. It is not registered for VAT, and no number of employees is stated. The industry code is “activities of other membership organisations”. Neither bankruptcy nor winding-up proceedings are registered.
The sauna offering in the area
In our own directory of saunas, there are currently no registered saunas in Birkenes municipality, and none in the Birkeland postal area. Across the Sørlandet region as a whole, 48 saunas are registered. This means this is the first case in the municipality to appear in our mapping, but that only says something about what is registered with us – not about private saunas or other offerings that have not been captured.
What we do not know yet
The register information says nothing about when a sauna might open, where it would be located, how large it would be, what it would cost to use, or how the offering would otherwise be organised. The fact that the association is registered means that an entity has been established – not that a sauna has been built or opened. The association has no website listed in the register either.
