Skostredet Hotel & Spa is a five-star sanctuary in the heart of Bergen’s historic bar and restaurant district, where Scandinavian craftsmanship meets Japanese finesse. The spa, which opened in January 2026, offers a refined Nordic sensory journey through warmth and cold, stillness and fragrance.
The facilities include four different saunas, a heated pool, a cold pool, a snow room, a steam bath, a quiet room, and a relaxation area. The emphasis is on contrast therapy: guests alternate between hot and cold plunges, starting with a hot dip, followed by a short cold plunge and rest, repeated two to three times. Two-hour sessions provide ample time for two to three rounds of heat and cold plus rest.
Hotel guests pay 495 kroner per session, while external guests pay 595 kroner. The spa also offers facials, massages, and access to a fitness room. The central Bergen location makes it easy to combine a spa visit with exploring the city. Advance booking is recommended for both hotel and external guests.
