Skogens Rom is an architect-designed floating sauna in Lunde, created by Tone Sandøy from Furore Arkitektur / Oslo Works. Part of a larger project creating year-round forest hideaways between Lunde and Ulefoss, the sauna is the result of extensive research into sauna culture and ice bathing.
The Experience
The wood-fired sauna accommodates up to 10 people and is located at Tveitanevja and Tveitankroken, between Lunde and the Vrangfoss lock along the historic Telemark Canal. Next to the sauna, a heated living room provides the perfect space for cooling off and socializing between rounds. For the brave, a refreshing (or icy) dip in the nearby canal awaits.
Design and Architecture
The sauna was designed with valuable input from experienced sauna enthusiasts, combining thoughtful Scandinavian design with authentic sauna functionality. The architect-designed building harmonizes with the surrounding forest and waterway.
