Moheia Bad is Mo i Rana’s flagship public aquatic and wellness centre, operated by Rana municipality and sitting at the heart of the city on Øvre Idrettsvei. After a sweeping two-year renovation completed in May 2025, the facility reopened as one of the most modern and comprehensive family swimming destinations in Nordland. It forms part of the larger Moheia Fritidspark complex, which also includes Ranahallen indoor sports arena — together forming the largest recreational hub in the Helgeland region.
Pools and Water Features
The swimming centre features four distinct pools: a 25-metre competition pool with a 1- and 3-metre diving tower, a current/training pool with a counter-current system, a warm-water leisure pool at 34 °C ideal for families and rehabilitation, and a shallow baby pool. A water slide with an electronic timing system adds excitement for younger visitors.
Wellness
The sauna offering includes three traditional Finnish saunas and a steam sauna, giving guests a full Nordic recovery experience after swimming. The Finnish saunas are properly heated to authentic temperatures, providing genuine löyly steam when water is ladled onto the rocks.
Practical Information
The café serves paninis, hot snacks, noodles, coffee, and ice cream. Two event rooms can be hired for birthday parties, and a dedicated children’s birthday package is available. The facility is fully wheelchair accessible, with family changing rooms alongside standard gender-separated facilities. Mo i Rana is a gateway to Svartisen glacier, Saltfjellet national park, and the Helgeland coast — Moheia Bad is a welcome stop for rest and recovery in this often-underrated corner of northern Norway.
