Hemmingodden Sauna

Seaside sauna with mountain views in Ballstad, Lofoten

Ballstad, Northern Norway

Hemmingodden Sauna is built right in front of the Hemmingodden Lodge in Ballstad, overlooking the Lofoten mountains with spectacular sunset views across the harbour. From the sauna, you can watch fishing boats coming and going, and at low tide, the seabed reveals itself in a constantly changing natural tableau.

The sauna can be booked privately for two hours at 2000 NOK (1400 NOK for lodge guests), or per person per hour at 285 NOK (225 NOK for lodge guests). Everyone is welcome, whether staying at the lodge or visiting from elsewhere. After heating up, a plunge into the icy Lofoten waters provides the ultimate contrast and a rush of exhilaration.

Hemmingodden Lodge is a fishing lodge in Ballstad, a nearly thousand-year-old fishing village and the largest operational fishing village in Lofoten today. The lodge also features the HEIM restaurant, offering quality dining to complement the sauna experience. The combination of authentic fishing village atmosphere, mountain views, and seaside sauna makes Hemmingodden a destination worth seeking out.
