Helgeland Badstuforening

Seaside sauna with views of the Seven Sisters in Sandnessjoen

Sandnessjoen, Northern Norway

Helgeland Badstuforening, operating under the name Gloheit, is a community sauna association in Sandnessjoen on the Helgeland coast. The sauna is beautifully situated by the sea with views toward the town and the famous Seven Sisters mountain range, one of northern Norway’s most recognisable landmarks.

The facility offers a traditional sauna experience with space for both individual visits and groups. You can drive all the way to the sauna, and stairs lead directly down to the sea for a refreshing cold dip after your session. The sauna can also be rented for private use, whether for a romantic evening or a social gathering with friends and family.

Sandnessjoen is the main town on the Helgeland coast and serves as a gateway to some of Norway’s most dramatic coastal scenery, including the Helgeland archipelago and the Arctic Circle. The badstuforening recently received permanent approval for their site and has plans to further develop the area in 2026. This is grassroots sauna culture at its best, driven by local enthusiasm and a stunning natural setting.
