Eliassen Rorbuer offers two panoramic saunas on the tiny island of Hamnoy, one of the most photographed locations in all of Norway. Situated by the spectacular Reinefjord in the wild western part of Lofoten, the saunas provide views that are nothing short of extraordinary, with steep mountain slopes soaring over a thousand metres above the fjord and the vast sea all around.
Each sauna accommodates up to six people, and regular time slots are at 17:00 and 20:00, with drop-in availability when possible. Prices range from 200 to 250 NOK per person. After heating up, guests can cool off in the bracing waters of the fjord, surrounded by the dramatic landscape that has made this location world-famous.
Eliassen Rorbuer is a collection of traditional red fishermen’s cabins converted into comfortable modern accommodation. Staying here and combining it with a sauna session is one of the quintessential Lofoten experiences. From late May through mid-July, the midnight sun never sets, making for unforgettable evening sauna sessions bathed in golden Arctic light.
